We proudly introduce the Data Science Winter School organized by Tsinghua, Renmin Universities and the Ecole Polytechnique (France) reflecting their common efforts in the fast growing Data Science area. The School will take place between Jan. 7 - 11 2017, at Tsinghua University, Beijing - building: FIT1 - room: 312.

The event programme features state of the art topics in the area of Social Networks processing and large scale text mining and NLP with advanced machine learning techniques along with practical sessions. The application of the above techniques in large scale industries is profound. The relevant industries are web search/advertising/ social networks/influence maximization, insurance and others. As well, there will be a data challenge that will run throughout the week on a relevant topic. There will be awards for the best teams.

The event is generously supported by the  Data Science Chair - DaSciS od Ecole Polytechnique funded by AXA (a leading insurance multinational). The data science shool aims at postgraduate or early PhD students in the area of computer science or applied mathematics/physics/engineering.

Interested students should deposit their applications (including a motivation letter and their CV) in the form next.

The participation in the school is free of charge but the number of places is limited to fifty (50). There will be a selection process from those that will submit their application based on their profile and motivation letter.

Travel fellowships

The award will be notified before Dec 1st. For a small number of participants (the plan is for five) a fellowship that will cover their travel expenses will be provided.
